Just a quick post to say that the girl's night went much better than anticipated. My belly bump friend didn't even bring up a peep about her pregnancy until I asked her about it. There also was hardly any conversations about babies or little ones the whole night. I never felt the need to hide under the table or start doing a round of lemon-drop shots, so all in all it was a very enjoyable evening :)
I think both of my friends made a concerted effort to stay mum about a lot of subjects in front of me - they rode together to meet me downtown, so they probably got a lot of baby chatter out of the way before I came into the picture. Which I really appreciate considering I was PMS'ing very very badly last night..... Anyhow, I am blessed with wonderful friends who are sensitive to my sitiuation and my anxiety was all for nothing....
Thanks for all the supportive comments. Obviously this post resonated a lot with you all! The fertile world tries but they just don't get it - I'm sure I wouldn't either if I wasn't in the shoes on an IF-er. I'm hoping I can partly step out of them soon.

OH good, I am so glad it went well! Maybe everyone needed a break and a little alcohol!
I'm so glad it turned out well. Sometimes the anticipation is the worst part... I think you even commented this to me once.... that once you get out, you usually have fun. It's the convincing yourself to go that's the bitch.
That's great that you ended up having a nice everning.
so glad that it went better than expected!
I am so glad it went well. It can be so hard to be in those situations where other women just dont understand what we are going through. I am glad it was a good evening for you.
I'm so glad I found your blog about domestic adoption. We only just started our domestic adoption adventure recently. But we did international for a couple years first. Our agency messed that all up, and we traveled to Russia not being able to bring our daughter home. Even after court paperwork in and everything ;o(
So, we continue and I'm researching domestic adoption. Your blog looks great! Glad I found it...
Best wishes to you!
